Holy Trinity Interparochial School was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education in September 2011. This award acknowledges Holy Trinity Interparochial School’s excellence based on scores on national standardized tests in the top 15 percent of schools nationwide in student achievement in reading (or English language arts) and mathematics.
Fourteen of the 413 schools nominated across the country were located in New Jersey. Half of them were Catholic schools under the Archdiocese of Newark which identified Holy Trinity Interparochial as one of the high-performing elementary schools eligible to apply.
The school was honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in November 2011.
Sister Maureen Fichner S.S.J., Principal, and a faculty member received two plaques and a flag to recognize the school’s Blue Ribbon Status of Excellence.
Blue Ribbon schools are selected by the U.S. Department of Education to serve as models for all schools throughout the nation.
